Kevlar is a synthetic fiber used for applications that require strenuous temperatures, It is heat resistant making this artificial material not damaged by high temperatures.
Developed in 1965 this high strength material was first used as a replacement for steel in racing tires usually its spun into rope or fabric sheets. Kevlar has many applications ranging from tires to bullet proof vests because of its high strength to weight ratio, by this it is five times stronger than steel. It is also used in modern marching band drumheads to withstand high impacts. When used as a woven material, it is suitable for mooring lines and other underwater applications.
